Final Report to General Assembly due Dec. 1, 2000.

The Task Force to Study Modernization of Credit Union Law was created in 1999 (Chapter 604, Acts of 1999). The Task Force is undertaking a comprehensive study of Maryland laws that apply to or affect State-chartered credit unions. It will consider changes in federal law since 1934 that affect credit unions; how other states have adapted to changes in federal law; and current Maryland laws for chartering credit unions. The Task Force will draft revisions to the State's credit union law (Code Financial Institutions Article, Title 6).

The Task Force submitted its interim report on December 21, 1999. Authorization for the Task Force expires June 30, 2001.
